My Thrifty Pottery Barn Kids Look Alike

I love this adorable arts and crafts Lazy Susan from Pottery Barn Kids. However, the set is $49.

As the frequent Target shopper that I am, I remembered seeing buckets in the $1 section in the front of the store. So, I purchased a lazy susan for $9.99 and 5 buckets, $1 each at Target today.

Not bad for $15! A $34 savings over the PBK version, not to mention the cost of shipping!

Walgreens Diaper Deal

Walgreens has their brand of diapers (Jumbo size package) on sale for 2/$11.98.

There is also a coupon in the August Easy Saver catalog for $5 off 2 packages of Walgreens diapers.

Total $6.98 for 2 Jumbo size packages of diapers!

I bought size 6, which contains 26 diapers per package.

So, that is only 13 cents per diaper!

Tip of the Day: It Doesn't Hurt to Ask!

Yesterday we went to Toys R Us. My daughter picked out the You and Me Baby Trunk pictured above. The trunk is cardboard and was pretty smashed on the sides. All of the trunks on the shelf looked horrible, but that is what she wanted.

I took it to the front and asked if there was a discount for the condition. The cashier called the manager and he said to take 10% off. It also must have been on sale, because the price on the shelf said $9.99 and we purchased it for $4.93!
So, it doesn't hurt to ask! I hate paying full price for something that is already beat up.

Our Toys R Us also had an extra 30% off of clearance! I purchased several baby layette items.

3 Pk. Gerber Sleep & Plays- $4.83
5 Pk. Gerber Onesies- $4.83
Carter's Terry Sleepers- $4.83
Carter's One Pieces- $4.36

I spent $58.36, but later remembered I had a coupon from the Gerber site for $5 off a purchase of $25 or more Gerber products. I went back to the store and asked if it was too late and the manager was very nice and said he'd take it off for me. He was having trouble getting it correct in the system and the total came to $6.11 for the amount off. He told me he didn't want to waste my time and that he would just refund me the $6.11. So, my total for all of that was only $52.25!!

Remember, it doesn't hurt to ask!

I found several baby items on clearance today at Target.

If you plan to take advantage of the Walgreens deals this week, go early! The items are getting picked over quickly. Also, look at the ads before you go and tally up what your total will be. I went to 2 Walgreens. At the first one I had no problems, but at the second store, I was overcharged $3.02 and my Mom was overcharged $11 and we had to get the manager to redo both of our transactions. However, the lady who rang us up was really weird about the coupons.

20- 2 pocket, prong folders @ 5 cents each
5- Pencil box cases @ 1 cent each
1- 5 pk. Bic Mechanical Pencils, 99 cents
1- 3 pk. Bic pens, $4.99

I used my Star Teacher rewards card for 10% off, an Office Depot coupon for $5 off of $25 or more and a Bic manufacturer's coupon for $1 off 2 Bic products. (this coupon was in Saturday's paper)

I will also get $5 back after a Mail in Rebate for the mouse! So technically all of this was $19.24!! Less than the price of the mouse that I needed, because my other one broke!
