I see that Target has a deal on Wii games. Buy 2, get one free. On the cover, is a picture of the game De Blop. This is an awesome game! My husband has the Wii and he said De Blop is a system seller! I highly recommend it as a Christmas gift for any Wii users out there.

Pumpkins, Costumes and More!

SITS is doing a fun Halloween Parade! Check out the links for some cool Halloween related blog posts!

Here is my daughter dressed as a cat for my sister's Halloween Party.
And me, dressed as a witch for the party. I painted my nails purple and put purple streaks in my hair. It was fun!
My daughter, of course, wanted a cat pumpkin. It wasn't too bad. It only took me an hour.
Check him out with the lights out! Not bad! LOL!

My sister's party was a lot of fun! We had lots of snacks, pizza and cookies! The kids played a Halloween version of Twister. I played too! LOL!

Now, I just need to hit Target this weekend for some clearance costumes for next year.

Awesome Deal A Day Sites!

With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to thank Baby Cheapskate for the heads up on these awesome sites:

MamaBargains.com offers 1 hot deal at a time. Prices are at least 50% off and sometimes up to 80% off! I've seen everything from Fleurville diaper bags to children's clothing and MORE! The site says the products offered are geared towards parents and children under 10 years old.

I have the site bookmarked in my toolbar to check whenever I'm on the computer. Depending on how fast things sell, there could be many different offers per day.

Shnoop.com is a "deal a day" type site. In the last few days, I've seen a stroller, diaper bag, and stroller footmuff.

I've also recently stumbled upon Babysteals.com. They offer a new deal every day at 9 a.m. MST. Again, the prices are 50 to 80% off retail and they have some awesome products!

Happy Shopping!

Great Children's Place Holiday PJ Deal

The Children's Place is having a great sale with savings up to an additional 50% off of sale and clearance items.

This is in store as well as online. However, I found that there are items online that are marked down that are not marked down in the store.

Every year, my family has a tradition of wearing our PJ's all day on Christmas. Of course, this means that we get to pick out special holiday pajamas! My sister and I try to find matching pajamas for my daughter and her son. However, this year is more fun! She is expecting a baby boy and we are pretty sure he'll be here before Christmas. We didn't want to leave him out of the matching pajama fun, so I've been searching high and low for matching pajamas in size 5T, 6 and 0-3 months. Easier said then done!

During my online search, I found that The Children's Place already had their holiday pj's available. They are regularly $16.50, but are marked $12.50 online. (I checked the stores near me and they are regular price.) Also, the matching baby sleepers are on sale for $8.33.

On top of that awesome sale, my Mom had a 20% off coupon! I haven't been able to find a code online to share, but there are many 15% off online codes available online.

So, for only $55.09 I ordered:

*Pink snowflake PJ set for my daughter
*Blue snowflake PJ set for my nephew
*Blue snowflake sleeper for my nephew on the way
*Pink snowflake PJ set, for me :)
*Clearance sleeper for only $1.59

Shipping was only $5. I love The Children's Place pajamas. They only sell the adult sizes online and in a few stores. They are very comfortable and wash up well. My daughter is going to be so excited that we'll have matching pink snowflake jammies!

Plus, my sister will pay me back for the pajamas I ordered for her boys :)

Make sure you check out the online sale, before it's over.

My Stockpile **Picture**

There it is! My stockpile. I've been working on it for about 10 months now. I use a plastic shelf from Home Depot to hold my items. The shelf is around $40, but we already had it before I started.

The top shelf is cleaning and laundry supplies:
*Softener Sheets
*Toilet Bowl Cleaners
*Shower Cleaners
*Windex
*Furniture Polish
*Multi-Surface Cleaners
*Air & Surface Disinfectant Sprays
*Disinfectant Wipes
*Dishwashing Liquid

The 2nd shelf is beauty supplies:
*Shampoo & Conditioner
*Eye Makeup Remover Pads
*Tampons
*Hand Soap
*Lotion
*Facial Cleansers
*Facial Cleansing Wipes
*Hairspray, Mousse
*Hand Sanitizer
*Bandaids
*A basket with toothpaste and toothbrushes

The 3rd and 4th shelf is mostly for larger items:
*Laundry Detergent
*Fabric Softener
*Tissue Boxes
*Boxes of Zip-loc baggies
*Bleach
*Foil
*Wax Paper
*Paper Bowls and Plates
*Disposable Gloves (we use these when handling meat)
*Toilet Paper
*Paper Towels

I am also using another shelf for food items. I didn't take a picture, because I only have peanut butter, jelly and diced tomatoes stored in the basement.

It has been really fun to build up a stockpile! I don't need to buy shampoo for quite awhile! LOL!

This week, I started using the money I would have been using for building my stockpile, to buy Christmas gifts. It's a great feeling to have a bit extra to use. I know I can get through to the new year without having to buy any household or beauty supplies.

For more information on building a stockpile, check out this post from Frugal Rhode Island Mama.

Feel free to share your stockpile posts or ideas in the comments!

Coupon Clipping & Money Saved

I started clipping coupons about a year ago. I was a member of a message board, where ladies were always sharing their great deals and freebies from clipping coupons. So, I had to try it out!

As I described in my first post to this blog, the most important part of clipping coupons is organizing them. If you can't find them, you can't use them!

So, some may ask, "How much have you saved?" Well, I've kept a list of totals from month to month on how much I've saved with coupons.

Here it is:

November - December 2007
$11.70 (Just getting started there! LOL!)
December - January 2008
$71.16
January - February 2008
$80.19
February - March 2008
$160.56
March - April 2008
$95.25
April - May 2008
$70.97
May - June 2008
$101.69
June - July 2008
$105.65
July - August 2008
$145.77
August - September 2008
$166.08

That's a total of $1,009.02 saved in 10 months! Not bad! Also, keep in mind that I am also stockpiling the things I purchase.

I am excited that I've stockpiled enough household and beauty type supplies that I won't be purchasing any until after the new year. I am going to use the money I would have used to build the stockpile, for Christmas gifts! What a great feeling!

I will share some pictures of my stockpile later this week. I need to take some pictures first :)

Thrifty Halloween Ideas

Check out BeCentsAble for an awesome post about enjoying Halloween in a frugal way.

She has some great and thrifty ideas for costumes, decorations and more!

This year, I already have all of my treats for Halloween. I will be giving out my free candy from Walgreens. I also found 20 pack playdough bags at Kohl's last week. The bags were normally $4.99, but were on sale for $2.99. I used a 30% off coupon that I had received in the mail AND a $5 off of $5 or more purchase coupon for signing up for Kohl's emails. My total for 2 bags of playdough was only 73 cents! That's for 40 jars of playdough!

For more Halloween fun, check out the BrightIdea.com!

Now, I just need to figure out a dessert to bring to my sister's Halloween party. My daughter has a tree nut allergy, so it's been kind of hard to find boxed treats or mixes that are tree nut free.

Walgreens Deals Week of October 5th to 11th

I went to a different Walgreens than usual tonight and I wish I wouldn't have. Everything ended up working out okay, but I can't stand when the cashiers say things like, "I don't think it will let me take this coupon, because that would be like getting it free!"

I wanted to just say, "Well yes, that's exactly what I'm planning to do and I know for a fact it will work, but thanks for the commentary." :)

Anyway, I did 3 separate transactions today.

Transaction #1
2 packages Snickers 11.18 oz. Fun Size bars
1 package Butterfinger 12.5 oz. Fun Size bars
1 package Crunch 11.5 oz. Fun Size bars

These were on sale for 4/$10.
-$4 Mail In Rebate in October Easy Saver.
-$1/2 printable coupon
-$1/2 MC

Total $8.37. However, I wanted to use a $5 off Register Rewards, so I had to add another item. The $1/2 counted as 2 coupons each, so I had 4 products and 4 coupons. It wouldn't accept the RR. I added a 50 cent Butterfinger candy bar for dinner! LOL!

My total was $3.89 and I'll recieve $4 back on my Walgreens gift card!

Transaction #2
2 Dial Yogurt Handsoaps, 2/$3
-B1G1 Free Walgreens catalina
=2/$1.50

Clorox Bleach, 2/$1.19 with Walgreens Ad coupon

(2) Oral B Indicator Toothbrush, $1.99
-(2)$1 off Walgreens Easy Saver coupon
-(2)$.75/1 MC
=$.48/2

-$2 Register Rewards

Total=$3.00, total saved $13.18

Transaction #3
Walgreens Scar Treatment, (like Mederma)
$16.99
-$5 RR
=$13.15

This isn't the best deal I've gotten at Walgreens, but I have been needing to purchase this for a scar on my face (thanks to my cat) that isn't fading :(
I don't like paying full price for things, so I used a $5 RR from last week for it.

Product Review: Logitech V550 Cordless Mouse

I can't say enough good things about the Logitech V550 Cordless Laser Mouse!

I use a notebook computer and find it is much easier and quicker to navigate with a mouse.

My previous mouse was one I got a great deal on. I was so proud that I used a store coupon and got a rebate back by mail on it. However, the wireless receiver stuck out from the laptop really far. It was constantly getting bumped and started to get loose. It lasted less then 2 months.

So when I went searching for a new mouse, I realized that sometimes just because it's a great deal, doesn't mean it's a great product.

I purchased the Logitech V550 because of it's nano receiver! You can hardly see it at all. The cost of this mouse was well worth it!

Walgreens $5 off of $20 Coupon

If you haven't done your Walgreens shopping yet this week, you are in luck! Walgreens has a $5 off of $20 purchase coupon here.

The coupon is good tomorrow, Friday October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th only.

Check out from.wags.to.riches for Walgreens deal scenarios.

Also, Baby Cheapskate reminds us that Huggies are on sale for $9.99 this week. Also, spend $14 and get $3 in Register Rewards. Spend $20 or more and get $5 in Register Rewards.

Here is a scenario I just thought of:

If you bought 3 packages of diapers for
$29.97
-$3 (3-$1 off coupons from paper)
=$26.97
-$5 Register Rewards from earlier in the week or last week.
=$21.97
-$5 off $20 coupon
=16.97, get $5 back in Register Rewards

That would be $11.97 for 3 packages of Huggies Diapers!

From now until October 7th, use your Kohl's card and save up to 30%!

I went to Kohl's tonight and found some great clearance prices on kid's clothing. I also got a 30% off coupon.

Altogether, I saved $10.17 with my 30% off coupon today.

I also saw a great Christmas Gift idea!

Digital Labs 7" Digital Photo Frame is on sale for $78.99.
-$23.70(30% off)
=$55.23! Not bad for a frame with a $129.99 retail value.
