After Christmas Clearance

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! This year, it was a Littlest Pet Shop Christmas at our house. My daughter got Littlest Pet Shop sheets, a club house, and lots of animals. She even had to go spend her Target gift cards on Friday and buy MORE LPS!

As of December 28th, Target only had 50% off the Christmas items. The dollar spot section is 50% off the BLACK dot merchandise.

Walgreens is also 50% off

Lowe's hardware store had nothing, not even a pine needle on the floor!

Sam's Club had various markdown prices. The Sam's by us had lots of gift sets, wrapping paper, gift tags, etc. still.

I also went to Expo. I am searching for a dishwasher. They didn't have any I liked, but they did have 60% off of their Christmas decor. They had some very nice stuff.

It's Fixed! If Only I Could Fix My Lights!

I've got the blog looking somewhat like it used to. Sorry about that.

Now, I just need to figure out what's up with my exterior Christmas lights. Every time it rains, it trips the ground fault and ALL of the lights go out. The last time it happened, I went out and found the problem strand and replaced it, since it was wet.

Well, tonight it happened again! It's too cold to go out and figure it out now, but I will try tomorrow.

Does this ever happen to anyone else? I only remember this happening once or twice in the last few years. The rate I'm going now, all the lights will be out a few times a week!

I royally screwed up this blog. I was trying to get a Christmas background and lost everything.

I'm not sure if I have any readers, but if so, I promise I will get it back to looking right.

Holiday Mr. Linky Open House Part 1

I know I've already shared many pictures of my decorations, but The Inspired Room is having another Holiday Mr. Linky party, so I thought I'd share pictures of the rest of my decorations. This is Part 1 of 2, because blogger will only let me upload 5 pictures at a time.

The above pictures are my daughter's room and her tree. It's PINK, her favorite color. The tree changes daily, as she is always adding and subtracting things from it. Yesterday, she added some Littlest Pet Shop figures. LOL!

This is our bedroom. Both pieces were from Target last year. They are so fun!
Our master bathroom. I got the tree after Christmas a few years ago and Yankee Candle. They were selling their holiday decorations. It was only $15! I found the snowflakes yesterday at Gordman's. Their Christmas decor is 25% off. These were $2.99 each. The light bulb ornaments are from Target last year.
The hall bathroom. I have these ornaments hanging on the towel rack.

The Gumdrop Topiary is Finished!

What do you think? I really like how it turned out!
I spray painted the pot red and added (3) curly ribbon gift bows on top. I also glued a small piece of felt on the bottom of the pot, just to protect my mantle from scratches.

I may actually be almost finished decorating. Imagine that! Of course, none of the holiday gatherings are at my house this year, so no one will see all of my hard work :( Bummer!

Candyland Christmas

My garland is pretty lame, but I do plan to hit up the after Christmas clearance for stuff to add to it next year. I have added more decorations, though! I had a lot of fun at Hobby Lobby and Micheal's. My favorite find was the above glass jars. They are 50% off at Hobby Lobby this week. I put the leftover gumdrops in one and bought a package of candy canes at Target for the other jar. I don't know if you can tell, but the candy canes are red, green and white; just like my ribbon!
Once my daughter started walking, we've been putting the stockings on the banister and not on the fireplace. I have some cute stocking holders, but the thought of them falling on her scares me. So, on the banister they will stay :)
I plan to add something more to this cabinet. I put the peppermint snowman on it for now, but I'd really like to find a glass cake pedestal to display my daughter's gingerbread house. I think that would be so cute! Oh and I have to share how I made this "garland". Really, it's 2 branches from our fake Christmas tree. We don't put the bottom 2 rows on our tree, because it would be too wide. So, I grabbed 2 branches and put them end to end and secured it with cable ties, then added the lights and ribbon.
This is a view from the family room into the kitchen. Please excuse my daughter's toys all over the floor and the coat drying on the back of my kitchen chair. All I need is a tree skirt! I can't find one I like anywhere.

Also, it rained yesterday, so I couldn't go out and spray paint the pot for my gumdrop topiary. I have all of the gumdrops on, I just need to paint the pot and seal the whole thing. Maybe I'll make it out today. It's COLD, but not raining!

My Holiday Gumdrop Crafts!

So much so, that I had to post some holiday pics of mine!

I have spent almost all day working on these gumdrop ornaments and I LOVE them! I got the idea from The Ramblings of a Crazy Woman.

I am also making a gumdrop topiary. I ran out of glue gun sticks, so check back later this week for a picture.

I looked all over for gumdrops and finally found them at Target. They are the Market Pantry brand and are called Spice Drops. A 9 oz. bag is 99 cents. If you are thinking about making some of these gumdrop ornament balls, keep in mind that each ball took a little over 1 bag. I bought 14 bags of Spice Drops, just to make sure I'd have enough. I did 6 balls and 10 small paperclip ornaments. I am also almost finished with the topiary, but I still have 3 bags left.

Also, I found it easier to use a glue gun to attach the gumdrops to the foam balls, then using toothpicks.

I'll be posting more pictures of my candy themed Christmas decorations, so check back soon. Oh and if anyone knows where I can find a candy themed tree skirt, let me know! :)
